First Virtual Philanthropitch San Antonio Donates $90,000

In the true spirit of pivoting, the third annual Philanthropitch San Antonio, presented by The Bank of San Antonio, hosted the first-ever virtual Philanthropitch event. This included a week-long voting and donation period culminating in an awards ceremony on June 15, where the finalist organizations and audience members delighted in celebrating the accomplishments and donations to the seven organizations!

Over the course of the week, 3,279 people visited the site from not only San Antonio but states as far away as California and New York. A total of $90,536 was donated thanks to our generous judges, funders, and YOU! We were overwhelmed by the community’s response to our virtual event and your generosity in supporting local San Antonio nonprofits through your donations.

For those who attended last year’s Philanthropitch event, you may have been excited to see a few familiar faces in our past finalists. We loved having Philanthropitch San Antonio alumni share how they have found success in the last year. Thank you to everyone who voted, donated, and viewed the awards ceremony. Your support of social innovation in the San Antonio community will be felt for years to come.

It was truly inspiring to see the San Antonio community come together and invest over $90,000 to local nonprofits in just one week. These nonprofits are on the frontlines, addressing their neighbors’ needs everyday. Getting these funds into their hands now, when our communities need to be coming together more than ever, is going to enable them to do even more impactful work.

Switching to a virtual format, we loved seeing everyone make Philanthropitch a party! Whether you hosted a watch party to view the finalist videos or shared your “I Voted” picture, it was exciting to see the impact shared throughout social media.
