Announcing the Six Philanthropitch San Antonio Finalists

Philanthropitch San Antonio has identified the six organizations that will go on to pitch at the H-E-B Performance Hall of the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. The full Philanthropitch experience culminates with each organization's final pitch on February 27, but before that each organization will go through 2 workshops, mentoring, and pitch practices in preparation for the event.

Philanthropitch San Antonio is co-hosted by The Bank of San Antonio with J. Bruce Bugg, Jr, The Bank of San Antonio Chairman sharing the stage with our very own Lisa Graham.

The six finalist organizations are Youth Code Jam, Hemisfair Conservancy, VETTED, Reasoning Mind, Restore Education, and MOVE San Antonio. Each organization exemplifies a model that promises a sustainable future.

YOUTH CODE JAM

Mission: Youth Code Jam fosters an interest in technology by introducing upper elementary through high school students to computer science. We get kids excited about programming, build their confidence in their skills and inspire them to imagine themselves in the emerging technology-driven jobs of tomorrow.

HEMISFAIR CONSERVANCY

Mission: To serve as a powerful conduit of philanthropy to elevate San Antonio by ensuring exceptional quality and longevity of the Hemisfair public spaces and their amenities for generations.

VETTED

Mission: VETTED’s mission is to transition Veteran leaders into industry disruptors and entrepreneurs of tomorrow!  VETTED assists each graduate to make a successful transition from being a proud member of the armed forces to becoming an effective contributor in the wealth creation sector of our country.

REASONING MIND

Mission: Provide a first-rate math education for every child.

RESTORE EDUCATION

Mission: Our mission is to transform the at risk youth of San Antonio into successful college and career-ready students so that they can achieve the future they deserve as self-supporting adults, role models as parents, and as contributing members of the community.

MOVE SAN ANTONIO

Mission: Mobilize. Organize. Vote. Empower. Live it. We are working hard to build a great future and empower great new leaders—such as yourself—to keep making it greater.

“At Notley, we’re excited to bring Philanthropitch’s social impact fast-pitch event to San Antonio’s community of purpose-driven nonprofits,” said Lisa Graham, Cofounder of Notley. “The Philanthropitch model is about channeling best practices and expanding upon the most impactful programs. Through this event, we hope to spread socially-minded approaches that are scalable and sustainable across our communities.”

There are also a number of corporate teams attending Philanthropitch. Collectively they will evaluate the finalist pitches to decide which nonprofits receive their business’s funds on stage during a branded check presentation. With their support, we are able to increase the overall giving amount. If your company is interested in becoming involved as a corporate supporter, please email our Director of Community Partnerships, Scott Meltzer.

We hope to see you in the audience on February 27 to help us choose the Audience Choice Award. Your presence can help make the difference for one of these organizations.
