Philanthropitch Columbus Tickets on Sale Now
Philanthropitch Columbus, presented by Kiwanis Club of Columbus and co-hosted by SocialVentures makes its way to the Jo Ann Davidson Theatre on March 4, 2019.
Founded over 5 years ago in Austin, Texas, Philanthropitch is a social impact fast pitch competition on a mission to scale innovative nonprofits. Since starting, it has awarded over $927,000 to deserving nonprofits in Austin, San Antonio, and Atlanta. We are excited to come to Columbus in 2019 with the help of our partners, corporate supporters, and the thriving nonprofit community. Our Columbus partners include American Electric Power Foundation, BrewDog USA, Catalist, CodexIT, The Columbus Foundation, Hot Chicken Takeover, IGS Energy, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Next Step Business Consulting, Pelotonia, Rev1 Ventures, United Way of Central Ohio, and White Castle.
We opened applications in September and received a record-breaking number of applications making the selection process tougher than ever! Once the application window closes, our team is tasked with selecting the semi-finalists and eventually narrowing it down to seven finalist organizations. The six nonprofits below were selected as finalists and a seventh finalist will be chosen by our partner, SocialVentures.
Over the next three months, our finalists will develop their pitch and refine their innovative models to scale. Each organization will work with our team and presentation coaches to perfect a 3-minute pitch through a series of workshops. On March 4th, each organization will pitch a panel of esteemed judges and our audience for the capital necessary to support their innovative model. Tanisha Robinson (BrewDog USA), Dan Sharpe (The Columbus Foundation), Wes Strickling (CodexIT), Kristy Campbell (Rev1 Ventures), Doug Ulman (Pelotonia), Lisa Ingram (White Castle System, Inc.), and John Lowe (Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream) make up this year’s all-star panel. At the end of the evening, each audience member will have a chance to vote for their favorite organization with the funds from their ticket purchase, making them an mportant part of the show!
